Neil Patrick Harris’s Box Two is a fun and challenging game to play—on your own or with a friend or several—and a great example of how good design creates better products and experiences. A multilayered and hybrid online / offline experience, game play beings by choosing one of two directions with the turn of a key. From there a series of different puzzles must be solved, requiring different problem-solving skills and challenges, props, activities and puzzle solving skills. Its clever online component helps share and develop the story. A taxing puzzle, multiple riddles and tasks, and solving a rebus all keep the game compelling and engaging as its layers are revealed.
