Vollebak’s Martian Aerogel Jacket has been re-editioned and will now be available in three different colors. This innovative piece combines aerospace-grade materials and cutting-edge insulation technology to bring NASA-level protection to outdoor wear. Inside, a revolutionary laser-drilled aerogel layer—flexible, waterproof and robust—is crafted by the same California-based engineering team behind the next Mars Rover’s heat shield. The outer shell made from Heathcoat’s parachute fabric (known for landing probes on Mars and Titan) Ultralight yet incredibly resilient, the jacket weighs 700 grams yet insulates for temperatures as low as -20°C. Its nanoporous aerogel insulation, composed of 20% aerogel by weight and over 50% by volume, blocks cold while remaining breathable, thanks to precision-drilled micropores. Built to withstand extremes, the jacket offers four functional pockets with storm flaps and taped watertight seams, merging advanced performance with practical, minimalist design.
